I… I also seem to have less pain overall? I was able to get down and up from the floor today without pain when I needed to. And I also had a very solid nap and cathartic cry, both of which I haven’t been able to do in a very long time. I think my body is finally getting the memo, “we’re safe now.“

Can’t seem to get warm enough! I thought it was just going from unseasonably warm to 27°F this morning. But no, turns out it’s also physiological. After getting a job yesterday, my nervous system has finally gone full parasympathetic, with a resulting dip in circulation and body temp. Interesting. 😯

After job hunting since September 9th, I have finally received an offer of employment! I get to work full-time (with great benefits & a fun team) in the production center of my favorite thrift store. I am so relieved & grateful. Just in the nick of time! Tentative start date is Thursday. 🥳

This isn’t been on my to-do list for a while, and it was not easy to get the seaweed to cooperate in my tiny food processor, but I present to you homemade nori komi furikake! It’s very simple; just roasted seaweed, sugar, sesame, seeds, and salt. I love this seasoning. Put it on all sorts of stuff.

Did you know nutmeg is loaded with antioxidants and minerals like manganese and copper that can support digestion, relaxation, and reducing inflammation? I sprinkled a tiny bit in my coffee today and it’s so tasty, warming, and cozy I’ll definitely be doing this again. ☕️

A magical sight this morning: whitetail deer grazing in the farmer’s field! Two bucks and a doe. After the bucks left, the doe and I stood and looked at each other for a long while. Such lovely creatures. 🦌

Project of the day! I thrifted these white metal shelves for $4 and knew they would be perfect for the this wall. I also decluttered everything and filled half of my car with donation items. I can now more easily do laundry in this tiny room! 🧺 Next up: decluttering the craft supplies & loft. 📦

I know there is a lot to doomscroll right now, but you need to plan some sort of offline activity and go do it. Walking outside, going to a museum, cleaning your home, taking a nap, cooking some food, buying your favorite pastry; lots of options. It'll feel better than more time on your phone.

After one hour of acclamation (30 mins floating in the bag, 30 mins tank water incrementally added) the pumpkin nerite snails are in their new tank and already crawling around! And they’re so unobtrusive and crawling so slowly that Miss Moon seems not to have even noticed them? Amazing! Perfect.👌

I went to my local mall for the first time since the pandemic and oof…Decrepit, unsettling, and largely abandoned. Sad, but I will not be going back, most likely. Definitely got hit hard with the passage of time as I was leaving, because I remember it well in its heyday.

Good morning! A huge barometric pressure jump (.32 Hg) at 5am caused a wild dream that woke me up, but I got back to sleep and now it’s 44°F, cool and very fresh out, so I’m having coffee, reading & planning on my deck. The chickens are exploring & Bella came to visit me on her morning potty run.

I’m having fun. 🥹 Difficult to explain exactly how much this little house means to me. And a very old one at that (like the ones I’ve pinned to my wish list.) I spent a good portion of my childhood with my head stuck in a dollhouse! This is very precious, and a chance to make newer mini memories. 🪑

Learning how to ask your future selves for help is really an awesome tool to get unstuck from annoying situations. Additionally, if you write the future versions down, you get proof of your changed mental state in 5 minutes, an hour, in the evening and so on. Depending on the version you let speak.

I’m on a budget, but I miss my childhood dollhouse. So when I saw this pop up on FB marketplace for $25, I drove to get it. The couple didn’t know what they had. This is a handmade 75–90 years old dollhouse made between 1935 and 1950, created between FDR and Eisenhower‘s presidencies. Happy tears.

I harvested the rest of my mustard greens and turn them into portions of the southern-style stewed side dish I’ve been cooking since I was a teenager. With brown sugar & apple cider vinegar, yum. Three hours in the kitchen later, very pleased with the result! 6 cups of food for the freezer. 🥬 🌱 🥄

Good morning! I’m glad I slept well last night. Not much on the menu today except I might go for a little walk in the park, make soup, and read. The chickens popped out of their coop all hungry this morning, ate some scratch, then the freezing wind picked up, and they promptly filed back inside. 😆

Why, yes, yes I did. 🥲Harvested the rest of the beets. They’re roasting covered at 400°F with a little bit of water.

Mornin’…I was woken up at 2 am by critters dancing in the ceiling above my bed. 🫩 Was able to get back to sleep, but I am achy, groggy, and low-spoons already. A neighbor had this for free, so I drove over the line to get it. They don’t make them sturdy like this anymore. Been looking for months! 🙌

All respect to OP, but there’s a better way. Couple years ago, my ability to focus was abysmal. But I used to devour 100s of pages per day as a teenager. I fixed it by just incrementally & slowly reading. A paragraph at a time, then a page, then a couple pages, and now I can read for 1+ hours again.

November weather is a bit strange this year! Woke up to fog again, then the sun came out, and now it’s raining. 🌧️ This sourdough sandwich loaf I got yesterday and cranberry red pepper jelly are both so incredibly delicious, I can’t even explain! Today’s a perfect day for staying cozy inside.

I went to my town’s outdoor holiday market today. I had so much fun! Met an herbalist, a community gardener, so many artists, a sourdough baker, a seamstress, and more. I got shin splints, but also all my Christmas gifts in one go! 🎁

The stability I’m creating emotionally, practically & spiritually didn’t come from being rescued or sheer luck. It came from lots of intentional, continuous choosing. And to quell the fears, I’m always reminding myself: “I’m the one who built this peace. If it ever shifts, I can build it again.”
