i mention this every chance I can - the majority of scripting for The Rise of the Golden Idol was done on and multiple of Windows production builds were exported right from Linux, so, in terms of Godot gamedev, Linux is a nobrainer.

Godot 4.6 is loaded with good stuff. always happy for the little things like language server improvements, but very much looking forward to the crazy boost in DX.

i think with the open nature of Godot, it only makes sense that the developer communities ditch discord in general. (not talking about game communities - you gotta be where your players are, of course.)

Happy new year! Last year I focused quite a bit on programming. Still got heaps to do in that department, but this year I want to get back more into music, dust off Ableton, practice more guitar and, hopefully, release something I can proudly call my own.

same thing with music. I've remade the current track i'm working on, basically, almost from scratch, cause I didn't like where it was going, and it has changed quite a lot since that. It's fun witnessing this evolution, all the happy accidents which inspire more ideas. You get none of that with AI.

every time I'm telling a fellow dev how I solved a problem I fully expect them to say something like "oh you could have just used a balanced Von Gloober tree with a walking cheetah algorithm" making my solution look like the equivalent of a child eating crayons.
