my primary concern with a lot of political discourse is that people have this idea that commentators, campaign officials, and even political staffers have any knowledge of political science, philosophy, or any real background at all. Literally none of them do. No one knows anything.

Fundamentally misguided: 99% of all writing is having 200 tabs open and a youtube video you've already seen in the corner of your screen.
