Estate sales have been dismal lately but did run into this start of a found footage horror film!

Estate Sale Find: People whine about wood burning kits, but pinecones soaked in firework chemicals is probably a bit more serious of a hazard! Might burn off a hand, but it'll sure be pretty and colorful when it happens!

Years ago, before blow molds made a comeback, I tried my hand at them. I had a 3d model made, had it printed, and then I created a duplicate (with the bad paint job) by rotational modeling. It all worked, but jumping to manufacturing that at a large size was too daunting at the time.

Spent an extraordinary time working on the ui for my procedurally generated shooter. As there is no data, there's no bitmaps, so it all has to be drawn procedurally, which was kind of a pain!

I almost broke a leg to get this picture. This reservoir is almost 11 feet too low (that circular thing should be submerged.). Thank the good lord above they want to build a data center right next to it! 🤬

If you know it, you know why. BTW: I found this episode again a couple years ago and decades later and, aside from the title blowing the reveal, it's really effective. It really is creepy. You wouldn't think that from Buck Rogers in the 25th Century.

Estate sale find: A what seems to be never used Marshall practice amp. I play through emulation, it's kind of weird to play with *only* gain - not even reverb. It's a great little amp, with a big tone, I'm impressed. What is not impressive is the completely unflattering angle I took this video at!

When I post estate sale finds, I'm usually snarky but I absolutely adore these people, I love when you see a house where people collected the things that make them happy, as stunning as it might be to me. The Stuffed Zoo was amazing, but the Room of Fine Lady Butt Art was extraordinary.

Today's estate sale find I rescued this good boy: Chap The Obedient Dog! 1950s, Japanese robotic dog. Don't have the batteries to test (yet) but I suspect it's seized, but he's still a very, very good boy that deserves to live in my toy collection.

When I was 8 I created "Iron Dog," which was Tony Stark's dog. I never, ever thought my dream of getting the giant behemoth of Disney to send me a C&D could happen but now it looks like I found my artist!

The manga Black Clover has finished its run, and I loved it. It was shonen through and through, did nothing that original but executed everything nearly flawlessly. Ideas are, sometimes, a dime a dozen. Execution is king. Also the art was amazing. I'll miss Black Clover.

Rest in peace.

Gerry Conway has passed away. One of the greats from Marvel. While he didn't create one of my favorite spider characters, his creations were the flashpoint. RIP, grandfather to Kaine!

Visited Terror Manor for a behinds the scenes look. I had a lot of annoying questions about animatronic health and how to apply foam. Incredibly fun, these folks run a really great haunt.

A guy came to my table yesterday talking about how there should be a reboot of SGC2C. I told him that I was the only voice actor left from the original show. Then the guy pissed me off, but I held my tongue for a bit to hear him out. He suggested replacing George and Clay with AI. 1/2

#gamedev Added a simple glow to the pickups so they are easier to spot in my procedurally-generated shooter. Doing a lot of tweaking lately.

As some of you know, I left my job a week ago to become a full time game developer. I did stand ups from the room where I stored all my halloween blow molds so they all knew how much I liked Halloween. Today, I got this unexpected present in the mail. Thank you very much, old work!

#gamedev Small improvements can make large playability updates in games. In my procedurally generated shooter, players started at a random position in the map. I now start them at the edge of the map, and only spawn in monsters at a certain distance. Much easier to orient players now.

Went to the arcade yesterday -- and they had Tempest! I don't see a lot of these live, and I used to be really good at it. I am ... no longer ... good at it. Don't get old, kids. Note: Was still fine at Dig Dug, so there's that.

Throughout my life, many people have called me a pathetic loser with no friends, but this is the first time an algorithm on my phone has made that assessment!

Well the world has become a degree more dismal today but I did find a spooky tree in the woods. It's not helping.

Have we reached a game singularity? If somebody born today wants to play 3D shooters, they have enough great, AAA or award winning shooters to play for decades. Like Zelda? We have years and years of that. With so much to choose from, new games have diminishing returns. Unique still matters.

Was a huge fan of the Defenders, and this was the most Steve Gerber of Steve Gerber things. A truly wonderful little lark.

I am mesmerized. Locally famous in TN cable access, the Reed Sisters had a "rich and famous" contract. This redemption of Celebration is minimalist, rhythm is straightened out & dance moves. Whatever happened to them, I hope they are all happy and successful because I can't stop watching this.
