Physically I look fine, I've lost a bit of weight and don't look too bad but this whole medical episode really did a number on me mentally. I've had setbacks before but it's going to be a long grind out of this hole.

I was doing some reading and learned that the embolisms I had in my lungs had to travel via my heart to get there. It makes sense now but I was wondering why they were monitoring my heart so much while I was in hospital. Subsequent tests have cleared it of any damage which is remarkable.

Being a carer and trying to recover from serious illness is quite difficult but such is the situation I find myself in.

Blood test results are back. Negative for thrombophilia which means my daughter will not be genetically predisposed to get DVTs but which also means I'm none the wiser as to why I've had two of them. I'll be on blood thinners for life and will adopt a more modest and pious lifestyle.

I'm not saying that I've had enough of this shit show called everyday life but when I'm done with it there will be signs.

Thought for the day: I'm too young to feel this old.

First lot of post DVT and embolism bloods are back. The numbers that should be trending downwards are doing so. CRP is down from 179 to mid 60s but needs to be under 10, still some pleuritic inflammation there. Dr has no concerns at this stage of recovery. Thrombophilia blood test next week.

Home from hospital. Quite the wake up call and there will be a lot of changes made, physically, emotionally and socially. I'm only going to do things and associate with people and groups who directly benefit myself and my family and friends. No more being used, manipulated and fucked over. No more.

Still need investigations into why I've now had two unproved DVTs (one in my right calf five years ago) and what can be done to prevent them in the future. I suspect that I'll be on blood thinners for life though. More news as it comes to hand. /2

Third day in hospital. I was admitted on Tuesday evening with a large deep vein thrombosis in my left calf and crippling chest pain which turned out to be pulmonary embolisms in both lungs. It would be fair to say I was in a bit of a bother. Blood thinners pumping now and feeling much better. /1

The kid just bought a new toy. 1994 Fender Telecaster. Sounds beautiful. The sound hits a bit differently to the Strat that she had previous to this. She finds the action and neck much easier too, plus it's lighter.

Just started playing Death Stranding on the PS5. I know I'm a few years late to the party but it is quite unlike any game I've ever played. I'm still only a few hours in and still not entirely sure what's going on but it's utterly captivating, mysterious and beautiful.
