At the airport about to put my daughter on a flight to London. It's her first time on a plane, let alone out of the country. She's got cousins and friends all over the UK so she'll have plenty to see and do for the month she's there. I'm so happy for her. What an adventure.

I hardly post any photos of my daughter on social media and even then only with her express permission. This is one of those times. Here she is at her Year 12 valedictory dinner a few nights ago. She has overcome adversity, trauma and grief and still made it to the end. We are beyond proud of her.

There are so many people that this applies to. I'm sure we all know someone.

Daughter has been admitted for overnight observation and more fluids. Things have settled down but her electrolytes and ketones are still a bit out of whack. She should be much better by tomorrow.

It's Wednesday night and I'm in the local ED with my daughter who has ongoing nausea and vomiting and is quite dehydrated. I see a saline drip in our future.
