As a former first responder, I know there's nothing more important than getting to a scene as quickly and safely as possible. This isn't just happening in the city -- just look at routes 1, 18, 22, etc here in Jersey during rush hour. Traffic is killing people in more ways than one.

This makes a lot of sense! Cars & trucks are top contributors to air pollution, so people who can walk most places don’t need to drive as much. Plus urban areas built near transit means even longer trips don’t require a car.
