I had valuable experiences during the war in China. I learned the truth about human beings. I felt that I saw the inner workings of people and the human spirit. I feel that there are no boundaries between different people. I grew up a lot during the war.

Finally finished @emilystjams.bsky.social's "Woodworking" last night and I would enthusiastically recommend it even if she weren't a friend, because it's funny and poignant and wildly empathetic and briefly rewired my brain in the way that good character-building can do.

My god. What a wonderful book. I will be thinking about this brilliant novel that revolves around the friendship between two trans women for a long, long time and recommending it to EVERYONE.
