In my late teens I read a lot of Charles Dickens. In Peter Ackroyd’s biography Dickens, I learned more about the man behind the writing. An aspect of his life that really fascinated me was the long nocturnal walks he would take to try and deal with insomnia. projectpedestrian.com/2025/12/23/d...

The first walk shot for Project Pedestrian was across Paris to visit the tomb of the great filmmaker Agnès Varda. As we were passing through Luxembourg Gardens, a woman ahead of us had hair that seemed Varda inspired.

In Canada, there are an average of 300 pedestrian fatalities every year. There are changes that can be made to improve the situation for pedestrians at intersections, but they require a municipality to make pedestrian safety a priority. Follow the link to find out more.

Pedestrians in Regina are required to push a “beg button” to get a green light. In Toronto beg buttons have largely been replaced by automatic pedestrian green lights, which go green several seconds before vehicles get a green light to try and protect pedestrians from careless right hand turns.
