My friends and I are making a game where we basically took a movement shooter and turned it into a side scrolling metroidvania. Traditional metroidvania upgrades turned into: Rocket jumps, bunny hops, grappling hook... #indiedev #indiegame

I wish people were not using AI to generate images just to make a joke about DLSS 5... especially indie game developers. There can be better ways, like raise the gamma to 200% or place 20 studio lights in front of your character, there is no need to feed the AI.

The rented apartment I have been living in the past 6 years need to be emptied (owner want to give it to their grandson). I have until February 16th. Development for TOWST is now halted until I found a new accommodation or change country and settle in, and perhaps even longer. Happy new year.

Smol update: the small issues found in the latest playtest have been fixed; working now on bigger issues. Tutorialization, settings and keybinds QOL, refactoring things that are not working. I have a long list and already the possible solutions, but time is lacking. Cheers and happy holidays!

For #screenshotsaturday and #gamedev, I wanted to share how proud I feel when I manage to use static/baked lights to "fake" lumen/rtx light bounces, without the need of any post process either. Ain't much, but I do what I can.

Come solve puzzles in TOWST, we have: -thermal baths to relax in when you are not solving puzzles -probably more things

I found certain non-puzzle elements to be too flat: red pillows (zabutons) on brown wood. Activating the colorblind setting will, among other things, change the pillows color to something that works better for everyone.

Despite having a steam page for TOWST for a while, only now I switched from GameJolt to Steam for sharing playtest keys. It takes a bit of time and effort, but heavens, once set up, it works so good, and allow a #solodev to get comfy with steamworks stuff early, before the full release. Ty #Steam <3

I have signs with name of locations, but hate it. It was also confusing players. I replaced it with a logo for each place. Some are easier, some require a bit more attention. They look ugly AF for now, but I need to test if they work before making them pretty.
