Saw a chiropractor for the first time. Dr. 80 year old elf on a shelf manipulated my body like I weighed 4 lbs. I am very impressed! I'm still going to the neurologist in Sept and then probably monthly PT.

This will be my last post for a good long while. My mother just got diagnosed with dementia. My husband just learned he has blood in his stool and needs a colonoscopy. My own health is getting worse by the day, and my PCP and therapist are both extremely concerned.

I've been speaking with other caretakers, and I now have a small list of scripts for if someone asks how my mom is doing. I also have scripts for if someone asks how I'M doing because let's face it, people don't really want to know.

My mom just told me she does NOT want to discuss or plan anything regarding her dementia diagnosis. I told her that means she is putting everything on me and she will have no say in anything. "Oh. Ok." This is fucking great. 😑

This dissociative depression I've been trapped under has to stop. So today I'm going to clean a bit and hope that makes me feel a little bit better. I'm trying to get to the point I can create things.

That moment when your blood sugar is a little high in the middle of the night and your pump says to take 1 unit but you think that's too much so you try and take .6 units but your vision impaired and took 6 units on accident. 👀 And didn't know. I'm ok, but I'm feel like hammered shit.

The #Menopause Buster

Day 3 of me zoning out watching the roofers. At one point I waved and one of them waved back. At home my nickname is Kitten and this is a reason why! Either way, I'm learning about roofing and I'm able to forget what else is going on.

It's therapy day, and the relief I feel that I have someone to tell my feelings to about the dementia diagnosis who isn't my husband is palpable.

I just sat and sobbed for a full half hour because maybe when my mom forgets me, she will actually treat me with respect or kindness.

Something that I've been stuck on for the last couple of years is finding task/project management platforms that are actually accessible — keyboard navigable, screen reader friendly, etc. It doesn't seem like this should be hard. But apparently, I'm wrong. I have tested so many and they all fail.

My stress levels are so high that I'm having periodic panic attacks all day. I'm trying to come online and put a smile on my face and pretend I'm ok, but I'm really not, and it's only going to get worse.

Having to keep my eyes closed for a long time, combined with a headache, made me take a nap. And omg I woke up in a BAD FUCKING MOOD and I still have a headache.

It was nice having a conversation with my doctor about my eyes in front of my mom. Maybe now she will believe that I am vision impaired? My poor doc. I'm going to go in to see him without her next time so I can explain that *I* don't need the repeat of info. She does.

My eyes have not changed, which is great! Mom and I went to the $1 store, which was a terrible idea, but we both are alive. I'm going to lie down because all the shit they have to do to my eyes gives me a headache.

I have an eye appt today and my mom texted me last night and apparently she has family heirlooms to give me when she comes over. She JUST got the news about the #VascularDementia and is still cognitively ok, but is already giving away all her shit. 😑

Dinner is almost made, and I had an extremely emotional day, so I'm going to curl up and drink some Gatorade while watching Critical Role. I want to disappear into a world with magic.

This whole Livestream this afternoon, they just keep hitting the points that having real humans doing this makes all the difference because it matters having real humans behind the camera and real humans to tell us what they are seeing, and that is Important.

My husband said to me today, "You're really excited about Artemis II. I knew you liked space, but it's always been more MY thing." I couldn't put my finger on why, but this is it. It's joy, excitement, and connectedness, and I've really missed that.

Productive thing: Got contact started with 2 of my moms best friends and her sister for updates/care. #VascularDementia Fun thing: Played a little of my 3rd playthrough of Dragon Age. I'm on Inquisition, and making different choices. Playing a bloke so I can snog the seeker.

Nothing makes me feel more #AuDHD than having to talk to people.

I spoke to my MiL and she was so amazing. She told me, "Honey I love you so much. You are enough. Just cry and let it all out." and I sat and sobbed and sobbed. I am very grateful for her, and I told her so.

My mom thinks there is something wrong with MY phone because SHE can't make calls on HER phone.* So I have to go with her to Xfinity to find out what's wrong with my phone. Life with the elderly. 1/2
