My horror for #showmeyourknits is a 60+ yo baby blanket I was asked to fix. The more I looked at it the more holes I found. I’m still learning to mend and, while I think I’m pretty good at mending stocking stitch, garter stitch and ribbing still do my head in! Please excuse the wonky bits 🤭🧶

I made this DK Distance scarf and matching gloves a year ago for a colleague who was moving to Europe to study. As she was going to be travelling around a fair bit I thought a mini scarf would keep her warm and be easy to pack #showmeyourknits #knitsky 🧶

I just got an amazing haul of 60s wool from a lovely woman who was clearing out her elderly mother’s stash. It included 15oz (425g) of this amazing, glittery Villawool Gleam. I wish I could capture its sparkle! Villawool is an old Australian brand, named after Villawood, the suburb it was based in 🧶

My all-time favourite yarn is Bluebell, not the modern version the old stuff that my mother and grandmother used. I love knitting vintage patterns in vintage yarns so I have quite the stash of it! These labels range from early 50s to c1980. You'll have to click on the pic to see the full range

I knit a lot this year, but by far my favourite project was recreating an old cardigan for a friend. She had posted a childhood picture of herself wearing the original with a comment saying that she would wear it to death if she had one today.
