After deep reflection, I’ve made the difficult decision to end my campaign for Mayor of MPLS. I got into this race because I love this city. But I’ve come to a hard truth: under the current political climate, I can’t be my authentic self and be a candidate in this race. (1/5)

Here are my thoughts on a strong mayor system: it requires a strong leader, and we don’t have one right now. You deserve to get the most out of your city government. That means electing a Mayor willing to roll up her sleeves and work with *everyone* to solve our toughest challenges together.

I think Koski has what it takes to run this city in a way that listens to the people of the city and take it on a better course than we've been led on by JF.

Caucus, caucus. Show up, be heard. As an introvert: caucuses can feel weird because it's a bunch of people who do actually care a lot about Minneapolis (that means a lot of different things!) in a room, and most are probably also introverts, lol. They're all volunteer run (SHOUT OUT to the vols!)

You know how precinct caucuses can drag on and on, with a litany of pie in the sky resolutions (whereas…blah blah blah…be it resolved that the Mpls DFL supports world peace, etc. etc.)? That’s not part of the process tonight. It’ll be much simpler & quicker: elect delegates, go on with your life.

I hope that anyone caucusing tonight who has any inclination of supporting Frey really digs in on the way this illustrates his ongoing unaccountability in his oversight of MPD (which is solely under his oversight). I think there are great things about Koski, Davis, and Fateh. We need a new mayor.

At the U of M showing up in support of protecting our U of M workers and students from Trump’s attacks. On this trans day of visibility, we must remember that our struggles are interconnected. Together, we have power. And together, we will fight back against all authoritarian attacks.

Minneapolis parents: do you think our city has gotten more family friendly in the last 8 years? I don’t. My friends with littles say on weekends & non-school days they go to the suburbs where they have options like indoor playgrounds. It’s time we change that & make downtown a place for everyone.

The international graduate student was enrolled at the school’s Twin Cities campus, according to the email sent Friday evening.

I know what I can do as an individual person. I want to know what I can do as a state legislator. Because this is the whole thing, we’re over if we let this stand or continue.

As a graduate student at the University of Minnesota; I am deeply troubled by the news of a fellow student’s detainment. We await more information; but in a time when this administration has recklessly flaunted due process any of these actions raise real fears. We all deserve safety.
