UPDATE: Another extremely disappointing decision, as Historic England recommend not to list Bury Market Hall (1969-71), following an application by C20. Closed abruptly in Oct 2023 after RAAC concrete was found, we now urge the council to proceed with a repair project and allow traders to return.

Bury is one of a small number of outstanding post-war market buildings across the UK, defined by their virtuoso roof structures. The 4 listed examples are: 📍 Coventry Mkt, 1957-58 📍 Pannier Mkt, Plymouth, 1959-60 📍 Smithfield Poultry Mkt, London, 1961-63 📍 Queensgate Mkt, Huddersfield, 1968-70
