One of my favourite public art works in Glasgow. The Empire sign by Douglas Gordon (1998) is a reverse-written, illuminated neon sign referring to Alfred Hitchcock’s Vertigo and exploring the Merchant City's historical ties to the slave trade and the British Empire.

In Giessen: 2-jähriges Stellenmoratorium: keine Stelle - ob Verwaltung, wiss. Mitarbeiter, Professur - wird besetzt oder vertreten (auch nicht bei Elternzeit, Krankheit, Vakanz). Verlängert (3+2) wird aber. Meine Fakultät wird 20% der Professuren ersatzlos streichen. Die Landesregierung will es so.
