Truly horrific. One of the 'only' successful live services and teams ground down to dust due to poor management and leadership. I wish it wasnt so common.

Well, when you put it like that it almost starts to sound like poor management, leadership and planning, but that can't be true because all the studio heads in charge of those things still have their jobs.

I don't think the average "gamer" really understands just how dire it is yet. Like, games are still coming out and things still feel 'normal' if all you do is browse Steam, but the industry is very much hemorrhaging amazing people at an unsustainable rate and you *will* feel it in time.

Given what people are hinting at, I think Undead Labs could easily be on the chopping block. State of Decay 3 has taken too long to release and it is clear Xbox does not care if you have a game coming soon.

If you haven't watched Double Fine PsychOdyssey yet it is perhaps the most important look at how difficult making games is, you will ever see.

Anyway, Xbox has done this enough now, several years in a row, and floundered for close to 15 years that the brand is dead or tainted in most people's eyes. Plus it is supporting a genocide. Not much you can do to come back besides a name change and rebound, and that is unlikely to work.

Remembered a Life Is Strange game came out less than 3 months ago. Franchise is definitely dead for a while cause the last two games made absolutely no impact whatsoever.

New Olivia Rodrigo album might end up with AOTY honestly. I thought it was great on first listen, but the more I replay it, the more cohesive and consistent it is as a record. Easily the best album I have heard all year.

Not saying social media is 100% great, but this is quite frankly an insane policy. Raising a generation of the most miserable, depressed kids ever because there are no alternative options/activities being funded. Crime, anti-social behaviour, drug use, underage drinking, etc will all rise.

Update: Young people & families today received shocking & transphobic letters from NHS. These letters tell people that endocrine care (blockers / HRT) is being fully withdrawn in 7 weeks time (July 31st). Forced medical detransition. This country is a danger to trans children & young people.

I got to checkout Echoes of Aincrad. As someone with no tether to SAO, I was impressed with how approachable and standalone it felt. As someone who has had to plan reviews previously and currently works with a crew planning reviews, if we think your game isn't going to arrive before 5-7 days of its launch and it isn't massive, you will probably get bumped during this review season hellscape.
