I spent 2 hours today bagging, boarding, and organizing comics, as well as updating my CLZ app with my recent purchases. At some point soon, I need to do a full reorganization of my shortboxes, but the sheer scope of such gives me horrible anxiety.

Today was a slightly better day than yesterday, other than the bitter cold temperatures. I think I'll finish the day with a little TV and some comics.

After seeing @vinsonlovescomics.bsky.social post earlier, I decided to dig out my 2 Mike Grell sketches. Mr. Grell did an in-store appearance in 2013 or 2014 at the comic store I managed in Birmingham, and he did these for me and my late wife. I do need to get them framed and hung in my comic cave

The vet let me bring Ellie home today! We have to go back next Tuesday to have her stitches removed, but she seems to be feeling well. She's been very loving tonight, getting petted while she's curled up on my lap. (I'm sharing an older photo because of the way her fur is shaved)

One of my favorite characters is the Helena Wayne version of Huntress, and I've been attempting to collect all her appearances. Last week while on vacation, I hit the local comic stores on a bad weather day and found the final 28 Wonder Woman v1 issues I was missing, so I grabbed them all.

I'm really missing my late wife Courtney tonight. Halloween was always a favorite day for us. This is us from about 15 years ago at the beach.

We discussed our options with the vet today. We decided to have surgery to remove the infected tumor. It may not help much, and it's possible that she may not be strong enough to survive it, but it's better than doing nothing. Please wish her a successful surgery.

There's been no real change today, except she's spent the day in one of her litterboxes which can't be good. We have an appointment first thing when our vet opens in the morning, and we'll see what the vet thinks and go from there. I'm hoping for the best and trying to prepare for the worst.

My sweet little girl Ellie isn't doing well tonight. She has cancer, and I'm afraid we're approaching her final days. My late wife and I adopted her and her litter mate a little over 15 years ago, and she was my wife's favorite lap kitty. I hope she's not suffering, but she's struggling.

Tonight, I was curious what was in a storage cabinet in the bottom of a bookcase. I found some jar candles of various scents, as well as 2 books that belonged on the shelves above the cabinet standing up with the front covers facing out. Those books were hiding a sealed superhero jigsaw puzzle.

Today was one of those days when the universe conspired to keep me from getting much done. Hopefully, things will go better for me in the morning.

I went out to dinner tonight and got a waitress who has been working at that restaurant for several years, although I had not seen her in a while. She asked if I was eating alone or if my wife would be joining me. (My wife died over 2 and a half years ago.) I did not handle it well, unfortunately

The vet recommended another two more weeks of antibiotic for Ellie. Sad face.

Ellie got her last antibiotic dose this morning and has a follow-up appointment with the vet tomorrow afternoon. Let's hope the infection is all gone now.

I spent the day doing a much needed cleaning of my home, and I'm paying for it tonight with a killer backache. I hope covering my back with one of those lidocaine roll-ons will provide enough pain relief to let me get at least a few hours of sleep tonight.

This is my favorite R.E.M. album. It barely beats out Automatic for the People. Leave is my favorite song off it, but I also love Wake Up Bomb, E-Bow the Letter, Binky the Doormat, Low Desert, and How the West Was Won.

There's an inside story to this that I won't share, but it's a tie between "You Are the Everything" and "Lotus" for entirely different reasons, with "Leave", "These Days", and "Driver 8" rounding out my top 5.

This is Ellie. We got the bad news last Wednesday that Ellie has cancer. She is also dealing with an infection that requires antibiotic treatment twice a day. She doesn't like the antibiotic, so as she feels better from it, she is fighting me more and more when I administer it to her.
