Excited about a Firefly reboot? Allow me to rain on that parade. Just in case you forgot that Whedon was not allowed to be alone with a 14 year old girl.

It is by will alone I set my mind in motion. It is by the juice of Sapho that thoughts acquire speed, the lips acquire stains, stains become a warning. It is by will alone I set my mind in motion.

there's part of me that still feels bad about it, but I'm unclear how something depicting Starship being even remotely useful by the end of next year is supposed to do anything other than make me laugh

An apparent lesson is not that the Trump Regime (illegally & unconstitutionally) started this war because Iran was extremely close to acquiring usable nuclear weapons… …but that the Trump Regime was enabled to start this war precisely because Iran was not extremely close to acquiring usable nukes.

Going to say it’s directly because of those 60 or more warheads, chief. (That is, at the minimum, the lesson that’s going to come out of this)

According to a poster on Reddit who identifies as El Paso city council member Chris Canales, no one has any idea what’s going on, even the military which is trying to figure out if they can fly. The airport is closed for 10 days by this. There was no advanced warning. This is not normal.

What the heck? This is a big airspace closure in New Mexico for no known reason. It doesn’t help that the guy answering the provided FAA phone number for questions is telling the press (from the article) that he has no idea what’s going on.

2) They are planning a SpaceX IPO and the current and longterm financials of SpaceX aren't exactly, heh, stellar. But if you reposition the company to be hopping on to a projected feast of new Moon-related government contracting, that's gonna juice that IPO.

It's not so much that Elon is an idiot who didn't realize this. It's that he's a conman, and the Mars con had exhausted itself. But also two other things are going on: 1) A new space race back to the Moon is heating up, and there is likely to be a new batch of government contracting Moon money.

I’ve never liked Berger. It’s not exactly a secret I keep close. But calling him “Historically a Musk fanboy) is a huge understatement. He is a major reason SpaceX developed such a cult like following, and is also financially tied to their successes from his access journalism and book deal.

Sunday! Best day of the year. For your consideration, the Blakiston's fish owl. Largest owls in the world (six-foot wingspans, weigh close to a bald eagle), salmon eaters, live year-round in remote forests of northeast Asia. 🦉

Kid Rock gets partial credit for the night sometime in 1999 or 2000 I walked into an LA strip club as Bawitdaba was starting and I was, for an incredibly brief moment, the main character in my own personal Michael Bay movie. It in no way absolves anything he's ever done, but I must acknowledge it.
