At CAN, lower speeds in our local communities is not negotiable. We recognise the benefits it brings to all road users, including cyclists. Safe, connected, separated cycling infrastructure includes lower speeds. Vote for candidates who supports lower speeds on your local streets.

One of CAN's goals is to improve bike/interregional bus interface for cyclists. Currently there is only a monopoly operator (Intercity). They have improved recently, there is still more work to be done yet. CAN will work with Intercity to improve cyclists experience of using interregional buses.

You can see how people, using their preferred transport mode, negotiate carefully with each other about how to use the space, and to avoid collisions. We can see examples of that in Aotearoa in places such as river shared cycle/pedestrian walks, and harbour side shared paths.
