This is an absolute disaster. If we don't stop this, they will turn NSF into a pawn of the Trump administration. There will be no research on climate, biodiversity, or anything that isn't eugenics or AI or how to more efficiently destroy the planet for profit. This cannot be allowed to happen.

Even if this doesn't all happen exactly this way, parts of these directives are ruled illegal, the agency is rebuilt some years from now, etc. the damage that has been done (and is being done every day) will be felt for decades.

Our NOAA Climate Adaptation Partnership for the Northwest region was terminated this week. I'm so proud of the work we did to support the climate resilience efforts of frontline communities and Tribal Nations. And I'm deeply concerned for what the loss of this support means for NW communities.

My parents were backpacking the Wonderland Trail (trail around Tahoma) that day, and got an alternate view of that particular cloud, much closer and from the East side (My photo from Teanaway Ridge, East of the Mountain). Amazing to be able to compare! Lenticular clouds are unbelievable.
