Popped up in my FB memories today from eight years ago. I miss seeing this view and this reminder almost every morning on my runs. Ladybird lake, Austin, TX under the Mopac bridge.

Every year, I feel like we are robbing our kids of experiences more and more. Today was "bike to school day." My kiddo and I have been riding bikes since was three. Every year, the number of kids who ride or know how to ride seems to decrease. This year, my kiddo was one of two experienced riders.

It dawned on me that christian conservatives want their government to look like the church I grew up in. White leadership, with the occasional Black person in the choir singing praises to the system, and maybe a sympathetic Black guest speaker once in a great while if it puts money in the plate.

Of those 30%, I'll bet most, if not all, attend an SBC church, and AoG church, or a church made out of sheet metal and probably located in a strip mall.
