Spider-Man was my first "guy" I was all about him. This run, this run... What @jmdematteis.bsky.social does with Sal Buscema here is, to me, the DEFINITIVE Spider-Man. Not a huge fan of omnibi but glad this is finally in print tomorrow. Hopefully a Child Within GN follows soon!

Some of my key childhood comics I can remember reading are Spectacular Spider-Man #194 and #195 (written by J.M. DeMatties and drawn by Sal Buscema). I haven't been able to revisit them since but the image of Spider-Man buried under sewer mutants has maintained a lifelong grip on my imagination.

Well, this has turned into quite a day for omnibus deliveries! This JUST arrived—after years and years of waiting—and I couldn't be happier. This SPEC SPIDEY run remains one of my all-time favorite gigs and collaborating with Sal Buscema, one of the absolute Marvel greats, was a joy in every way.

Sal Buscema, drawing my definitive Defenders team. Wouldn't mind Nighthawk too but he came along a bit later.
