The ongoing ban on girls’ secondary education in #Afghanistan leaves them at risk of child labor and early or forced marriages. The Afghanistan Education Cluster in 2025 is coordinating comprehensive #EiE activities to prioritize the most marginalized.

Refugee and internally displaced children are among the most vulnerable populations in crises. But education protects them from violence and exploitation. On this #WorldRefugeeDay, we advocate for refugee and IDP children fleeing violence and persecution to fulfill their right to education.

Taking examples from #Pakistan, PAGE Pakistan discusses the invisible leadership of women-led organizations and the negative perceptions that devalue the contributions women make, when they are often bridges between classroom and the crisis.

At #ECOSOC, Voices Amplified highlights violence as a systemic barrier to learning, stating that #GBV is not adjacent to education, but central to it. In this moment of global instability, addressing GBV in #EiE so girls learn safely today, yields women who will lead tomorrow.

While there have been promising efforts to lend concrete support to and investment in women-led organizations (WLOs), @educannotwait.bsky.social highlights that funding cuts seriously threaten over half of WLOs. Empowering girls in and through #EiE must not be deprioritized.

As the education sector writ-large is affected by reductions in financing, @gpforeducation.bsky.social underlined at the GEC Partner’s Forum the need to strengthen coordination between humanitarian and development partners, to effectively carve out a space for education going forward.

Despite Education not being part of the priority clusters in #Somalia the Education Cluster encourages humanitarian actors and decision-makers to listen to communities and their requests for education, especially in crisis.

The GEC Partner’s Forum convenes today against the backdrop of the Humanitarian Reset and funding crisis. As decision-makers shape the future of humanitarian action it is critical to ensure that #EiE, with its lifesaving and life-changing role, remains a key priority.
