What an absolutely wonderful day, yesterday! Finally being able to meet my good friends @buchans.bsky.social and @transducer.bsky.social in person and celebrate was very special 💖🎉

My daughter just saw a pre-transition photo of me and said “oh, that’s just a picture of her before she figured out she was Dama” (Dama is how she refers to me) This was completely unprompted. So yeah, what we all knew: kids have no problem or confusion with trans parents or caregivers.

Consider the following: no one should care how thoughtful and measured a journalist is if they continue to work for a publication (the NYT) that pushes the propaganda of the current administration, and commits libel against a marginalized group in an effort to normalize the eradication of said group

To put this in perspective of how relatively rare we are. I live in Portland, there are a LOT of trans people here. How many? Enough that when I go to a non-queer coded space like a large grocery store there's a decent likelihood I might see..... one other trans person. Maybe another stealthing.

My spouse picked up meds at the pharmacy on her way home from work. Apparently the pharmacist was asking about me and my new vials, to make sure I didn't have a reaction to them. My first shot with this batch was this morning. That is the nicest pharmacist I have ever interacted with 💖

Last week my friend Dana died. She was a 78 year old trans woman (who began her transition in the 1960's and who I interviewed a few years ago, link below if you haven't read it). Her health had been in decline, strokes and heart attacks, so it wasn't unexpected 😞 Just kinda sucks

A pre-transition coworker who left the company came back this week. After seeing me on a call, he DMed me and chatted for a bit. He signed off with "It's nice to meet the real you". This is all it takes, cis people. Acceptance and seamless integration.
