one positive thing about the continually rubbish weather is that sam is making lots of effort to keep the flat full of comfort food. it is important to keep up your energy up for when you really do have to leave the blanket nest on the sofa.

the spicy baking smells have been revealed to be for speculaas spiced biscuit dough. our niblings gave sam a set of space themed cookie cutters for her birthday so she has used them to make a pressie for them. also i wanted to do some herdy sheep because look at them.

i hear the baking mixer and can smell baking spices. this bodes well people.

there is a pair of more-relaxed-and-fluffy-now-they-have-been-soaked thick and cosy woolly boots drying on the radiator next to the sofa and now i sort of get why sam says me-sized footwear is cute. i think sprok will like them.

sam used to make chocolate ganache truffles. this thread is frighteningly remini- remeni- like having flashbacks.

it was nice to wake up at our normal time this morning instead of being woken up by sweary panicked crashing about. on the down side that also means my tea was made with sams when she got up and is thus cold. can you get small dog sized thermal mugs?

the good news is that sam had dried out by the time she got home, so when she swept in for a hug it was not one of the soggy sort.
