I will unfortunately not be attending this year’s @furality.org due to their recent partnership with Persona. I’ve been attending since Furality Luma Festival as my first furry convention! The community is truly a blast and I met so many cool people and had so many great experiences. However…

Unfortunately, unless VRChat drops Persona, I will not be attending Furality Ultra this year. I cannot condone using such a strong point of community to force people into what is purely a fascist surveillance dream come true. Do not give VRChat your ID. Furality was fun, but it's not worth that.

I've uninstalled Discord and I refuse to do age verification on VRChat/Furality until this changes. I don't fucking care how much this "inconveniences" you when people's lives and safety are on the line from this. If you acquiesce you are now part of the problem and contributor to normalization.

Basically the TLDR is that if everything in this leak checks out, Persona is a surveillance nightmare. I’m immensely disappointed in Discord, VRChat, and now Furality for requiring this platform. Roblox is just disgusting, because that means they are training on children, ew.

I saw this post as well, looked into it a bit and while I haven’t verified findings: * Persona keeps your face and ID * If you bypassed it before, the system will periodically recheck your info again, and then blacklist you * does do media searches on you to find if you are “business adverse”

So I got a response, and I will not be attending @furality.org's convention. They did not specify say that VR chat is requiring this age verification, only that attending the con requires it. As someone who is afraid to give their personal info to Persona due to its ties to Palanteir, and 1/?

Welp, I had fun the one year I attended Aqua, but if this is the course VRChat is choosing to stay and Furality is willing to abide by, I am not longer attending Furality. Given the lack of public statement, and the response to support tickets being effectively that Furality will continue requiring age verification, I cannot comfortably attend Furality, and I would discourage anyone in positions of risk (LGBTQIA+, disabled, etc.) from sharing their info with Persona.

Reminder: under no circumstance should you give discord your ID. It is gonna -suck- trying to set up alternatives, and this whole fiasco is going to damage communities, but you CANNOT give them your info

For You was down for 3 hours 40 minutes. The cause: the system SSD (Kingston NV2, SM2267XT) controller hanged and never restarted. It has been hanging periodically but always recovering in less than a minute. But this time it hasn't recovered. It looks like I will need to replace the system drive

"Don't worry about the Discord thing, it's only NSFW servers and channels that will require age verification! :)" I could remove every speck of risque imagery/topics from my community and there's still a 50% chance we'd get flagged just because we're openly queer. It's not actually about the kids.

There is not, so far as I know, an actual law requiring them to do this. (And if there were, I would’ve expected them to cite it in their press release.) This looks to me to be compliance in advance—they already did it for the UK (where it IS the law) so now they’re doing it elsewhere.
