On this day in 1992, A.J. Casson died. Born in 1898 in Toronto, he joined the Group of Seven in 1926 and became the youngest member. He was known for his depictions in his signature limited palette of southern Ontario. In 2016, his Gathering Storm sold for $1.5 million.
