Pleased to share that I've been awarded an NWO XS grant for "Terraforming from Above: Digital Methods for Colonial Aerial Photography" Between 1920-1949, Dutch pilots systematically photographed Indonesia from above, creating an unprecedented aerial archive of the colonial landscape.

Just finished a five-part radio adaptation of Le Guin's Left Hand of Darkness and, with the caveat that I don't know how faithful it was to the original, was surprised by how small a role the gender themes play in it? Enjoyed it all the same, but maybe prefer The Dispossessed overall.

Miksi valtion metsien suojeleminen on niin vaikeaa? Lajikato etenee vääjäämättä, eikä Metsähallitus ole päässyt tavoitteisiinsa yli 20 vuodessa. Näyttää siltä, että raaka-aineen tuottaminen teollisuudelle on vienyt voiton luonnonhoidosta. Lue koko juttu: voima.fi/artikkeli/20...
