My response to anything over the next two weeks

Gender affirming care for trans people is safe, effective, and has a lower regret rate (4%) than almost any major medical procedure. It saves lives. These are facts. The right's talking-points are recycled "they are coming for your children!" scare tactics well over fifty years old at this point.

Any Democrat who thinks it's appropriate to "find common ground" with the Republicans on issues like high school sports teams is negotiating with a political party that does not believe trans people should exist. This policy will kill people, so maybe stop wringing your hands about volleyball.

Here's Trump judicial nominee Justin Olson today, admitting than in 2015, he gave a sermon in which he said that “marriage was not intended for all people,” including “our handicapped friends or our persons with physical disabilities that might prevent the robust marriage that we’re called to.”

RIP Joe Ely. Earlier this year, I wrote about his wonderful album Letter to Laredo as it celebrated its 30th birthday. The piece doubled as my chance to talk a little about the first time I saw him live, which remains one of the best shows I've ever been to. Farewell to one of the greats.
