GOES-19 and GOES-18 captured the prominent exhaust plume left behind by Artemis II when it launched from Florida today. Atmospheric winds dissipated the plume as sunset approached.

The heat signature of the Artemis II rocket could be seen as it launched through Earth's atmosphere.

Artemis II is headed for the moon! GOES-19 caught this amazing view of the exhaust plume from the rocket as it launched from Cape Canaveral.

From its angled view, GOES-18 also captured the historic launch of Artemis II.
