Guess who now has all 12 colors of the Andrew Lang fairy books? I had been missing the Grey but found a nice 1913 edition in my price range. Most of mine are 1900-1929, although I have a later example of the Olive and the fancy Folio Society version of the Blue. Off to read fairytales.

If you read the judgement, do take a moment to admire the judge's dedication to reading more than 6000 pages of romantasy in dispute. It's also a fascinating discussion of why tropes or scenes a faire cannot be copyrighted. It's only how you, as a writer, express those tropes that can be protected.

Took Great-Aunt Ida’s opera glasses to Pacific Northwest Ballet today. Wonderful performances, loved seeing the costume details with the glasses. I don't know the age of the glasses. From the style and what I know of my great-aunt, I suspect they are from 1900-10, but could be later.

No oxen allowed on my balcony, but I spent a little yesterday trimming the surviving plants. The geraniums have loved the mild winter and are still blooming. The potted olive tree has grown another inch (it's Trader Joe special from last year and quite small). The honeysuckle put out new leaves.
