Today is the 250th anniversary of Boston’s mass inoculation against smallpox on July 3, 1776. The city was effectively closed to commerce from July through September 1776. The mass immunization effort was cheered as evidence of true independence. Here's how I described it in my book:

Fun thing about Weird Al: he sought and received permission from every artist he ever parodied, even passing on opportunities when he didn’t get the okay. AI companies did the opposite. Of course he wouldn’t work with them.

You may have heard about the OMB rule change that will put politics over federal grants. However bad you think it is? It's probably worse. Thanks to

One of my mom's cousins is trying to get Irish... citizenship? Foreign birth registry? Whatever Americans can get by descent, I'm a generation removed to be eligible). She's looking for a copy of her grandfather (my g-grandfather's) death certificate. She asked me bc I'm the family genealogist.

I found a water bottle online a few weeks ago with a really cute pattern of boxer dogs (a fawn with ears and tail, a brindle with ears) and pieces of sushi over a dark teal background. It arrived yesterday and the dogs don't have eyes. I also think the pattern is stolen? So it will be returned.

You guys, the White House accidentally ordered 10x the amount of Porta-Potties that they needed. The lawn is just acres of Porta-Potties. It’s all fenced off and you can’t see, but I took this photo through a hole in the fence netting.

Zissou once came and got me in the shower (this dog hates getting wet) because my ex was having a "throw the trashcan across the room" meltdown because he couldn't find his car keys. It was never targeted at me, but it was only the stuff i contributed to the apartment getting destroyed.
