Level 12 in Borderlands 4 and the difficulty went down immensely after the first few missions. I don't quite get the tuning here. Right now, I take reasonable damage, but when I am in danger it's usually because I went from full health/shields to 4hp in about one second. So weird.

Of my 23 years as a designer, I spent 16 of them working on games that were very much not for me. I was good at it, and there are a lot of good lessons to learn in making things when you aren't the target market. But expect to make things you may even hate personally.

This industry is an utter mess and I would not recommend anyone go into it. If you want to make games, work in an entirely different industry and do it as a hobby.

I keep hearing that Silksong proves that gamers want more of this type of game, but what type are we talking about here? Metroidvanias? I love 'em to death, but we aren't starved for choice in the genre. There are tons of great ones, but few find the blockbuster success the premise would indicate.
