We need to abolish prisons but until we do, the people in them deserve more humane treatment. A crucial service that connects family members with their incarcerated loved ones is at risk of losing funding. You know what to do if you have the means.

Recipients fell by ~50% year over year in March. My family are among those in AZ who lost them and are still trying to get them back. I give to the Yuma Community Food Bank and the Community Food Bank of Southern AZ, in an effort to take care of community from afar (+ direct family help).

I had a delightful storytime and a young patron told me he loved me (the library, really) and missed me (the library, really) when he couldn't be at the library. Both really helped after a particularly rough week.

I still have two of these (that work)! I use one on runs and the other plays pink noise for our anxious dog. The clips broke off very early on (I got mine circa 2010) and my family dog used one as a chew toy, but they are otherwise very rugged little beasts. I love them. 👵🏽

My spouse bought me pruning shears because he knows being outside makes me feel better. Our native plants in four places around the front and backyard. The milkweed didn't seem to make it, so we'll plant more and hope for the best. Most made it back from last year. 🌿

I still have underemployed family who haven't received SNAP benefits in months. I support them AND food banks in multiple communities in multiple states as much as I can but I'm only one person and I happen to think the social contract calls for feeding everyone regardless of income.

I just want it known that if I seem fine and unfazed by the current state of things, I am still rather incandescent with rage and simply trying to direct it to appropriate offline spaces.

I owe my home (not work) library a book (it's late, not lost or damaged) and I'd like to use their poster printer. There's a bet in my household about whether or not I'll get approved to do so based on my account's standing. I plan to turn the book in Sunday but work may prevent it. Wish me luck!
