Almost to a person, the biggest issue i see with students at a large, metropolitan university is the inability to read something that is more than an excerpt. It's almost an endurance limitation. It's a lot harder to identify the "point" when you're reading an entire book and not just a passage.

My makeup and hair is done really beautifully for an event, so if I'm going to cry I am going to bend over and let my tears run onto the ground.

I've been doing this long enough that I can recognize issues and patterns that are "just kids" versus issues and patterns that are just me or unique to particular groups or individuals. Kids have been doing last minute, late work since the dawn of time. I can recognize that and still hate it. Sigh.

I need to turn late work notifications off in Google Classroom. The past 3 days has had my anxiety turned up to 11 because of course the teenagers are working at 11pm when I'm trying to sleep.

My granddaughter is 15 months and can color, speak in full sentences, and is almost potty trained. Her papi is usmc (the most socialist system in the US) and her mami is able to be home with her full time. She also goes to FREE childcare on base. Don't say this can't be done in nyc or anywhere else.

I keep reminding myself that this too shall pass. Not the big, ugly worldwide things. Those are gonna pass like a kidney stone. The little pebbles of life are going to pass too.

I was prepared for plenty of the"signs of aging." All fine. Not prepared for the dry skin part. I look like the crypt keeper.

Before Break Me- planned all of week 1 after break. Right down to the copies and Classroom posts. Love that girl. She deserves a treat.
