I call myself an occasional artist and tonight I occasioned. Also, I bought myself a fancy .7 mm mechanical pencil yesterday, so I have to use it.

As a precaution, the fiancé and I are making a backup plan in case we have to drive to MFF. We already bought plane tickets and I ordered stock for the con, so we will wait and see. With how stuff is going, who knows at this point what will happen.

I work from home, and we are getting the house reroofed. I now understand why dogs and cats freak out about lightning storms, because all the random noises and banging I can't see the source of are driving me kind of crazy. It is a very ears back and down experience.

I have Scrivener and Discord on my computer, and Discord sometimes gets pushy with it's overlay notifications. It's telling me I can invite people to play Scrivener with me or I can stream Scrivener. Thanks Discord, but I have no desire to steam myself squinting at a computer silently.

Counting how many short stories I've published now includes questions like, do I count stuff just posted online, or stuff only on Patreon? What about the two collections I've self-published? Ignoring Patreon and online but counting my collections, the number of stories I've published is now over 50.

Work is pushing us to use GitHub CoPilot, and all I can think of is that being a wolf in the forest singing songs about the seasons and telling tales about heroes sounds like such a better life than being in tech. I was born to be a scribe and a skald of days past.
