ICE arrested ~200 people during its surge in Maine. Only a few had committed a crime. DHS data shows <14% of the people they’ve apprehended had charges or convictions for violent criminal offenses. Fourteen. The “worst of the worst” argument was always bullshit. Now we have the data to prove it.

For months, we’ve been hearing stories about ICE forcefully entering people’s homes without a judicial warrant. Now we know why: DHS gave them the green light. This is a clear and egregious violation of the 4th Amendment. No wonder DHS tried to keep this under wraps. They knew it was illegal.
