NEW: Lewiston City Council passed an ordinance last night to prevent city staff from participating in federal abuses of power and preserve local resources for local priorities – not the president’s mass deportation agenda. Read more ⤵️

FILED: Sanford is refusing to release public records about its police department’s collaboration with federal immigration authorities – so we’ll see them in court. The public records will shed light on traffic stops that led to Sanford police turning a person over to ICE or CBP custody.

Calling 911 during a medical emergency should be a path to help, not a path to immigration detention.

Secretary Noem's legacy is one of racial profiling, abuse by ICE and CBP, free speech violations, and more. While she is leaving DHS, the anti-immigrant policies devised by White House aide Stephen Miller aren't. Congress must remain firm and deny funding to DHS until they truly rein in ICE.

BREAKING: The Senate just passed LD 1822 to limit sweeping digital surveillance. Big Tech's mass surveillance allows the government to buy data the 4th Amendment would otherwise protect. The government should not be allowed to use technological developments to subvert our constitutional rights.

Only Congress has the constitutional power to authorize war. Yet, the Trump administration is once again taking unilateral and reckless military action against Iran, putting both servicemembers and civilians in danger. This is unconstitutional.

We must not allow our schools, places of worship, or hospitals to become places of fear because of immigration enforcement. Making people afraid to seek essential community services does nothing to make our communities safer or healthier.
