I think this is correct - but that's why this government needs to be bolder in its ambition and set out a more coherent vision (especially on science, tech and innovation).

As a research in science and tech policy, I thought it was important to try Waymo when I was in Scottsdale last week. A v smooth journey and never felt worried. These have already been operating on the road for years in Phoenix... we may see the first self-driving cars in the UK from 2026
