🚨🚨🚨 Enormous news: the Constitutional Court of Romania has unanimously decided to cancel the presidential elections, G4 Media reports. The electoral process for the election of the Romanian president has to be re-run in its entirety, with the government setting a new date.

My feed is packed with herons and pizzas and I'm not sure why. Either the algorithm knows something I don't, or everyone is taking photos of a presumed heron infestation and then celebrating with a margarita

I believe most people would have a picture of a person (probably a child; probably male) in meltdown, or stimming to calm, or holding hands over their ears. Rather than, say, a contented autistic person deep in hyperfocus having a great time. This tells us a lot about society in general, I think.

Writers have been using neurodivergent archetypes in film, TV and literature for centuries. The world has always been aware of us, but either put us on an impossible pedestal or (more commonly) laughed at us.

Getting dopamine rewards for completing things *is* why humans are motivated to do anything at the most basic level. If that reward isn't there, and it often isn't if you're ADHD, then motivation ceases to even be a thing, biologically. No wonder I can't even put the kettle on.

Why are people so desperate for their music streamer of choice to tell them what they've been listening to all year?

New lego minifigures representing autistic people are on the way. Surprised by this as all my minifigures are already autistic

Telling autistic kids that they play 'wrong' is just so cruel and unnecessary.

I have a fever, so now my ADHD busy brain feels even busier. I don't think there'll be any sleep tonight. Urgh urgh and urgh.

So turns out this year my blood pressure may have been around 170/95 for prolonged periods of time, due to stress mostly. I've managed to get it down to 135/85 today which is a huge improvement but I don't think I've been looking after myself terribly well for a long time.

I've got a cold now. Boo to this. New meds have brought my blood pressure right down though so that's something.

I've had a headache or migraine every day now for the last week and a bit. Trying some new meds today but my god, it's been awful. I've done multiple speeches with my head absolutely pounding. Hoping it wasn't noticeable.

Isn't it interesting how mental health was so commonly ignored or taboo throughout history, despite being a fundamental part of being human. I wonder how different the world would be if we'd always had it as a priority as a species.

Well I'm in Braintree, of all strangely-named places. Ready for speaking at an education conference in Chelmsford tomorrow morning where I'll finally get to meet Dr Luke Beardon.

Getting ready to train up some trainers so they can deliver quality, neuro-affirming training to parents of autistic children. It's all about getting rid of that deficit narrative and getting parents to understand what is really going on.
