Have asked friends round this evening for drinks and snacks. Seem to have got a bit carried away and have got nice cheese (well tis the season) made salmon terrine, salads, and blackcurrant cake is in the oven.

It’s the little things. Just tidied saucepan cupboard and found hidden at the back jars of homemade jam, marmalade and chutney. Result 😊

For once it isn’t Evri. 4th day of waiting in for Royal Mail to deliver a parcel as their tracking showed it would be delivered Friday, then Saturday, then Sunday🤷🏼‍♀️, then today. They have just emailed us saying failed delivery as we weren’t in today. Outright lie. Grrrr😡 Will wait in again tomorrow.

This evening I’ve had an on & off ’chat’ first with a bot, & then a human, about a card charge I don’t recognise. Card now cancelled and new one on way. So I am now at stage where I’m hoping it is fraudulent because I’ll feel awful if I’ve got it wrong & it’s genuine. Aargh. Stress.

Back home now. Lovely week away in Wales and Derbyshire. Tomorrow it’s laundry and life admin.

Gas bottle ran out this evening and we had to change it in the dark and the rain. Fed up with the rain.

It’s a 5 and a bit hour drive to up north so I’ve got the sat nav and a podcast going and the satnav women seems to have precedence over Joanna Lumley.

I am £6 better off for remembering to use a Black Friday code to renew my yoga app subscription today. Mind it was still £10 more than last year🙄

Productive day. Washed a blanket. Scanned a pile of letters etc that had accumulated after having come through the post. Visited friend from uni, brave for me as I don’t drive by myself much these days. Packed to go to London tomorrow. & booked a pub to stay at en route to school reunion next week.

Fussy kitchen fridge 0 : me 1 *whispers* Yesterday I put a 2p piece under the front right of it and think I’ve fixed its leak. The piece of kitchen roll on the floor there is bone dry! as opposed to sopping wet.

Have ordered a chicken for Christmas from nearby farm. Have also ordered daughter-in-law’s present - not from nearby farm. Go me😂 🎄

One thing leads to another. Put away late mum’s necklace & MiL’s ring. I’d worn both to son’s wedding so I’d felt they were there too. Found a purse I’d put £12 in back in September, & a tin with £18.50 in for window cleaners, but they retired a while back. Now have £30 to spend at Xmas Fayre 😊

New country for us today, Andorra. After days of moving across Spain driving each day we are going just to chill out on campsite today now we’ve got here. Will wander round its capital tomorrow.

Six weeks ago, I picked up a year-old tawny owl with a broken leg off the main road near our home and dropped him off at our nearest vet. After a few days, I received one of the most bizarre phone calls I’ve ever had, asking “So when are you coming to pick up your owl?” 🧵

Sat in surgery waiting room, trying and failing not to overhear. It would be better for patient privacy if you had to see the receptionist, that you now have to bare your soul to in order to book an appointment, in a separate room.

It’s a ‘they want your money, but is the service actually there when you need it’ kind of day. Tyre burst on daughter’s car on one of her wedding waitress days earlier today. OH has now driven 2 hours down to her as breakdown company have still not arranged help. Grrr.
