A sociopath who craves human flesh, and her unsuspecting girlfriend, in a sharp horror novella. I like how it's never addressed, apart from a couple of subtle hints, whether the main character is supernatural or not. #JustRead

I have a little bit of #JustRead posting to catch up on. These issues contain some beautiful Steve Ditko art. It doesn't hurt that it was inked by Wally Wood, and the uncredited colorist did a fine job as well. As for the writing… I warmed up to it and enjoyed this fantasy antihero's quest.

A further foray into Deitch's loopy, mythical pseudo-autobiography. Includes a lot of old-timey elements, some of which have unfortunately not aged very well, but are historically appropriate to the culture at the time. So a little bit cringe, but still a load of fun. #JustRead

Chloe Cat, 2008 (?) – 2026. For many years she was a neighbor, then she was a pal, then she was a lodger on our porch, and in 2023 she finally became family. She was a real mallomar — tough and streetwise on the outside, sweet and squishy on the inside. We'll miss you every day. 💔

I love cats and hate fascism, but this book was a disappointment. It kind of trivializes what we're up against, although it's not totally declawed either. I guess I expected too much. Major cringe at the use of "Because at the end of the day…" at the conclusion of each and every section. 🙄 #JustRead

We went to the Peanuts 75th Anniversary Vince Guaraldi Symphonic Concert today and it was not what I expected when I bought the tickets. I wanted a respectful musical tribute; what we got instead was more like Peanuts on Ice with a (very good) live orchestra and no ice. Full review TK, maybe

I went to the "Dune" minicomics drawing gathering for the first time in a loooong time. I drew this comic, dedicated to @davidlasky.bsky.social.

The Starfleet Academy season finale wrapped things up nicely and in exciting fashion. Plenty of Jet Reno being boss, and it's fun watching Paul Giamatti just feasting on the scenery. Not a subtle show, and a little uneven episode to episode, but heartfelt and satisfying. #JustWatched

Various authors offer thought-provoking visions of alternate presents and futures that aren't totally cynical. It's sometimes easy to scoff at their naivety, but it's also easy to find hope in them. It's gonna be a rough road ahead, but I can take some solace in work like this. #JustRead
