Released on this day in 2006, Camera Obscura's 'Let's Get Out of This Country' is still the band's best album: a sentimental, watershed moment in the Aughts’ indie-pop surge.

Backrooms: a horror movie with dark scenes where you can actually see stuff and that knows how to light Black people. A+ to the DP, gaffers, and lighting crew.

My husband told me I need to let go of everything I know about using can openers to use our new can opener. Needless to say, I cannot use the new can opener. Also, I think it's rigged for right handers!

Watched 200 Cigarettes for the first time in ?? years the other night. It's pretty awful as a movie but fun as a cultural artifact. Ripping soundtrack. Courtney Love and Paul Rudd have zero chemistry.

Thinking of nothing but DeCoteau movies for June. Starting with the gay friendliest. Witch House has 2 of my favorite line deliveries of all-time both by, I think, Ashley McKinney: 'I cold cocked her and locked her in that room.' And 'La-aame'

Farewell to Academy Award-winning film editor Marcia Lucas (1945-2026). She won an Oscar for STAR WARS, was nominated for AMERICAN GRAFFITI, and shared a BAFTA nom for TAXI DRIVER. She also edited ALICE DOESN’T LIVE HERE ANYMORE and RETURN OF THE JEDI in a brief but game-changing career.

Bozeman Main Mall used to have a sign that read "World's 3rd Largest Carpeted Mall." It also had an Orange Julius and stuffed polar bear. I used to go to the Gold Mine arcade to play Mortal Kombat 3 after, sometimes between classes.

I would be remiss not to point out that "Tricking Milli Vanilli into performing a concert for a dictator" is LITERALLY a storyline from the 1990s 'Super Mario Bros 3' cartoon 🙃
