I wasn't directly impacted, but I'm still processing the news and it's been incredibly difficult and mentally taxing. Thank you to those who reached out privately to check in on me ❤️. The grief and survivor's guilt is real. Layoff / job loss trauma sucks. 😥

People tend to think burnout is from overworking, and while that doesn't help matters, it has even more to do with a lack of stability and psychological safety. Being stuck in heightened stress states (flight, fight, freeze, etc) with no clear signal it's safe to come down wrecks body & mind.

It's a really rough day. I am safe (this time) from layoffs, but it's not much consolation when the economy is what it is and this industry is in such a dire patch right now. There are some incredible folks on the market for a new job right now.

Liana is incredible and any studio would be beyond lucky to scoop her up. She was an asset to Bungie both for Destiny players and for the greater accessibility community.
