Those trying to write 50k words in their book over the course of November for #NovNov: if you're trying to write every day, you should be finishing today with a total 10,000 words. I'm currently at 8,645. I have just 1,355 words to go. Wish me luck!

Thanksgiving in the USA is associated with trees covered in vibrant orange fall foliage. And yet, Halloween, which occurs a whole month before it, is associated with leafless, skeletal-looking trees. What's up with that? Little bit of time travel shenanigans at play?

My goals for the month of November: add 50,000 words to my novel, and write at least one sentence every day. Obviously, I'm going to write more than one sentence a day. That's just me setting the bar low enough that I don't get discouraged when I'm too sick or busy to write much for a day. #novnov

It's 2am. I really, REALLY ought to be asleep. Instead, I'm up here contemplating rewriting my two protagonists as women (they're currently a man and an enby) because a sapphic story is more in line with my lived experience. It'd be a queer story either way, and I'm under that umbrella, but... yeah.

Darned imposter syndrome. The voice of self-doubt is currently whispering, "You're not good enough at writing technobabble to tell sci-fi stories!"

I hate it when I get an idea and ask, "Why haven't other people already done this?" ... Only to learn that they have, many times, with great success, and I simply wasn't paying attention. We all have blind spots.

I've finished my last college class! WHOO! Time to start the next chapter of my life. =)

I know filler is bad in principle, but the urge to make my main characters get in a fight over whether or not they've been isekaid is SO STRONG. "We got in a vehicle crash and ended up in a world with magic, so it's isekai!" "But I don't have a harem, so no, it's not!"

Much as I love fancy spellcheckers like ProWritingAid, sometimes the suggestions they make are phenomenally bad... Like saying I can boost my vocabulary by changing "It's good" to "It good."

Pfffft, hahaha! I tried updating my word count through Nanowrimo because I wanted an automated way to track my progress... The numbers its giving me are so wildly inaccurate, because I just posted everything I've written so far into a single day's wordcount. I MIGHT need to change my goal settings.

Showing my age a little here, but I find it strange and slightly depressing that kids these days dress like adults with a couple more color options. When I was a kid, that was not the case. There were entirely different fashion expectations by age group.

Ugh. Yet another failed attempt to fix my sleep schedule. I took some sleep meds to try and fall asleep earlier. It worked, but then I slept for twelve freaking hours, and there goes half my day AGAIN. My body and brain are just so determined to be nocturnal.

Normally, when I see fog, it kinda sneaks up on me. I'll be minding my own business, then I glance out the window and everything is white white zero warning. But tonight, I looked out in time to see the fog just beginning to form, lit up by streetlights. Nifty!
