I'm very good about going back to a place that has bad memories then making new positive ones, but for some reason I can't do that with a certain type of convention. I think it's ok, though. If I ever go back to cons it'll be comic cons and people can see me at those. I think it's ok to not go back.

I do art for a living, but apparently can only do comics with substantial support from my community. I am really bad at handling commissions and comics/personal projects at the same time since drawing for others takes a lot of time and energy. Could be art or another job, it's hard for me to balance

I told my dad why I added 10 more pages but he thinks I'm crazy. 😂 I said I wanted to make the world come more to life so that means I should add more pages. I'm SO glad I've just kept the entire process to myself and didn't make a webcomic. I wouldn't have been able to make this comic if I did.

This comic... I feel like the moment I think "wow, I have 6 more pages to go" it turns into "wow, I have 14 more pages to go"

I was told I was powerful, but I guess the only time I feel powerful is when I eat stinging nettles I picked off the side of the dirt road. Or maybe that's crazy.

The one thing about making this comic is that it's teaching me how to have fun with life again. I've been really depressed for so long, but I'm really just holding myself back. Things aren't perfect, the world sucks, but I can find joy and in that I can hopefully let others to have a little fun too.

I like to send a long email about website stuff to then get an email from Dreamhost about my VPS exceeding its RAM limits. Ended up being a bug on their end, though. All I have are a few little HTML/CSS things so it made zero sense. 😂

The ones I remember the most are Pioneer Farms and Northwest Trek in Eatonville, WA were the two I remember the most. I remember Fort Nisqually at Point Defiance in Tacoma, but the most I remember was sitting on a bench drinking an Ecto Cooler and very happy about it.

I've been poking at the comic even though I said I was going to take a week long break. It gave me time to think about stuff. I changed the design of one character to fit the tone better, and added a few pages. It went from 24 pages to maybe 32. Ha ha

On a positive note, this brief break on the comic has done me good. I decided to change some stuff that will better suit the tone and expanded on some scenes.

I've never really wanted to leave WA, but the new taxes on freelance digital artists really make me want to leave.

My go-to advice on how to become a better writer—and a better comic creator—is to read. Seriously, read tons of books, of different types & genres. Devour books. Read them with intention. Take inventory of what themes/techniques resonate with you, and your writing *will* passively improve.

Taking a break yesterday helped a lot. I needed to decompress and take care of a lot of things then play Minecraft without guilt.

I always feel accomplished when I create a big project, but oh boy do I really feel the exhaustion. 🫠

The thing I love about comic books more than webcomics is I feel more free to just meander a bit where I feel that would be boring in a webcomic. It's easier for me to visualize the pacing. I like the tight pacing of a 24 page comic, which I think is why I could write screenplays fine.

I've proven to myself that I can still draw a comic book on deadline. Just a little harder when I am writing it, too. That's fine, though.

The thing I find hilarious about this statement is pretty much all of their movies has to do with trauma, navigating difficult emotions, death of a loved one, and other such things people go to therapy for. Inside Out, Up, Turning Red, and many more are just that.

I should have all of the art done by Monday night. I'll take a few days to fix up the dialogue. So sometime in about a week I'll be able to share it with my $5+ patreons, then I'll figure things out from there as I plan phase 2 of this comic which involves the colors.

One of my grandpas was a lumberjack, the other worked in construction after Vietnam. Both were very manly, but also loved sci-fi and the lumberjack grandpa went to college for anthropology. They both gave me books to read.

In basically being forced to finish a comic I realized just how much self-sabotage I go through to a painful degree. The amount of times my brain told me to just give up was astounding. My brain still wants to really bad. Just throw it out the window, go out into the forest and let the bears eat me.

I guess I must rethink my gender as I play games like a boy.

I probably could have been faster at getting this comic book done, but I don't really feel like having unhealthy work habits again. It'll still need to be colored and everything, but that is a future-me problem.
