A reminder: Matt Goodwin lost heavily in spite of an almost total lack of tactical voting, not because of it. The combined Green/Labour vote was 66%, versus 28.7% for Reform. If Labour and the Greens split the vote 50/50 – a total coordination fail – he'd have finished third, not second.

The Greens beat them by 5,000 votes! One and a half times as much as Reform. Labour plus Greens was two and a half times Reform & he still doesn’t think they were beaten? Great news from Gorton and Denton. Britain’s wing of the Trumpist party has been defeated. And we’ve seen that opposing them rather than appeasing them is the way to defeat them. If this isn’t a wake up call to a Labour to actually try to win the argument nothing will be.
