I have never mentioned it here, but love Arkhip Kuindzhi's paintings. He is the goat the legend of landscape painting. He was born in a small village in the southern Ukraine. Which later became a part of Mariupol. Which is now occupied. Thousands of people died there.

I was thinking about Usami and nature vs nurture. I feel in his case it is both. He did had aggressive tendencies. Him being in a dojo made it worse since it showed him that you can get approval by being violent. Plus Tsurumi enabled and shield him from consequences of killing another person.

I think most if not every Ogata fan has to be a mentally ill person from a broken family. Otherwise you wouldn't understand and forgive him or sympathize in any way. I think so. I can't imagine a stable person from loving home liking him.
