I’m still not sure how to handle trust in the fandom still. Though 2016 really taught me there’s no way to save the people who I thought were friends, but slipped far right. And 2020 taught me even firmly it’s a lost cause. I saw the signs in 2012 but ignored it.

I used to consider myself a centrist until I realized what that really meant. (Damn Overton window). The fandom helped me further understand what’s going on in the world, and my place in it. I’m not a super great leftist, nor am I always a perfect friend or advocate, but I try.

But damn if people were judging me on what I was like 12 - 15 years ago? I’d like to think I’m a growing evolving person and I’m a better person However for me it might be easier cause I was never edgy or into troll culture. I never did 4chan, Something Awful, or Portal Of Evil. Never griefed SL.

Well I guess maybe I’ll soon see who my real friends are…though I’m pretty sure almost all of them are. I’m pretty sure most people close to me know who I am, what I stand for, and can trust me.
