#WoTShowSpoilers #WoTSkies Rewatching ep8. Little fun note. During the final set, when Siuan is talking about Elaida she says "...this woman who loves nothing but power?" Camera focuses on Elaida and then a quick switch to Lanfear. Nice nod to Lanfear's real desire.

She was definitely thrilled to work with Rosamund, but Rosamund also had to practically write her a love letter to convince her to come on board! I'm honestly surprised she gave WoT this long. She has far more going on in her career, and she deserved a banger of an exit.

I really wanted the two of them to survive the Last Battle and retire to live happily ever after in the fish hut 😭 Perhaps in the next turn of the Wheel.

She was incredible. I think people don't realize who Sophie Okonedo is - she's a well-established and in-demand actress. She didn't need WoT, WoT needed her. I'm stoked to have seen her play one of my favorite WoT characters, and she knocked it out of the park.

the wheel of time writers' choice to have everyone in the white tower hall ignore the fact that siuan was sobbing her eyes out when she exiled moiraine is so funny

I loved the impossibility of lesbian desire on WoT but what happened to Moiraine and Siuan is still so devastating my god ... if S4 happens I am like half sure Moiraine is gonna break her bond with Lan then off herself 😭

People should stop infantilising Sophie Okonedo ... she guest starred once in WoT S1 and twice in S2 (relatively small scenes) while performing in plays and acting in other shows. It was obvious she wasn't for the long haul, especially with someone of her caliber and reputation

The Wheel of Time is very good at maximising nuance with little time. This shot of Moiraine only lasts a second - in one out of a thousand futures, she had Siuan's Tairen's tattoos, testifying to a devotion so deep that she left nobility for a life on the river, and loved it.

i just know the white tower is like "what do you mean siuan and moiraine were together? i thought siuan hated her ass" right now 😭

Thinking of Lanfear who is three thousand years old and has never been able to love anyone unconditionally or have that love reciprocated. Yet Lanfear saw that Moiraine's grief over Siuan - a woman who betrayed her - is real and sincere and it surprises her. LOVED THAT.

Not to mention, how tragically gay is it for her to go out saying “I love her & I dedicated my life to our shared mission?! Rarely do shows commit to exploring lesbianism as praxis (I refer to Monique Wittig on this) but WoT posits - thematically - that lesbian desire is inextricable from a critical investment in utopia. & not in a naive sense, but a utopia that demands disappointment

The people don't know this but Elsbeth is secretly the gayest show of the year ... not gay as in there are gay characters but gay because they have Mary-Louise Parker in a bisexual throuple and she murdered her husband to get the girl all to herself

There are issues with WoT but I don't think it's particularly fair to compare Siuan's death to shows like The 100 and Killing Eve - the latter two weren't particularly invested in centring lesbianism as praxis

i love how clear it is in the wheel of time that moiraine only loves siuan and lan. she's really quite funny and real for that
