Spring Street residents had a great time at their annual cookout today. Good food, music and community are the best way to finish the summer.

This week at Mary Ellen McCormack, Boston Police led a Stop the Bleed workshop where residents learned lifesaving CPR and first aid skills. Grateful for this partnership to keep our community safe and prepared!

Lots of families, kids, and BHA staff came out to enjoy the festivities at the South Street Unity Day. The tenant taskforce gave away donated toys and backpacks, and residents enjoyed a fun cookout to mark the end of summer. It was a wonderful event on a beautiful day.

We had a great community meeting tonight at Faneuil Gardens to discuss the planned redevelopment at 290 N. Beacon St. in Brighton. The project will create 40,000 sq ft of replacement music rehearsal space and bring new desperately needed affordable housing to the Brighton neighborhood.

Today, the BHA Youth Council led a heartwarming Hand-in-Hand workshop with residents at St. Botolph — creating joined hand castings to take home as lasting keepsakes. A beautiful intergenerational connection between our youth and seniors 🤝

A SHAPE staffer under Eisenhower. A mother of 3 children in JP public housing who all entered public service.
